During World War II more than 10,000 women served as code breakers. Recruited by the U.S. Army and Navy from small towns and elite colleges, these women moved to Washington and learned the meticulous work of code breaking. Their efforts shortened the war, saved countless lives, and gave the code breakers access to careers previously denied to them.
As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th birthday it’s a great time to look back at some of the unsung heroes from our past. To honor the women code breakers of WWII, we invite you to join us in making friendship bracelets encrypted with a secret message that only you and your new bracelet-making pals can decipher.
This event includes white wine and cocktails for attendees 21 and over.
