Join us in celebrating the final day of Thoughts in Fiber: Work by Deborah A. Moore Harris on view with this Artist Talk. Deb Harris will speak to the works on view, techniques applied, her process, the inspiration behind her work, and more.

Light refreshments available before the Talk. Free parking is available behind the Museum; accessible from W 23rd St. This event is free and open to the public!


About the artist

Deborah A. Moore Harris is a Fiber Artist who expresses her thoughts through her art. An Army Veteran, Harris was an officer in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, she has resided in Helotes, Texas for twenty-six years. 

A self-taught quilter, Harris’ pieces include “I Can’t Breathe” (2021 Fantastic Fibers, Yeiser Art Center, Paducah, Kentucky); Edward “Five Scalps” Rose (Black Pioneers: Legacy in the American West, 2022); “American Legacy Too” (Between Yesterday & Tomorrow: Perspectives of Black Contemporary Artists of San Antonio, 2023), as well as a solo exhibition at St. Philips College, 2024.

Harris is currently showing at the Common Cultural Gallery located within the Plaza De Armas, Built on Legacy: Artists of San Antonio.
