storytellers

William Holleman - Storyteller

After spending most of his adult life putting exhausted medical students to sleep with boring PowerPoint lectures, Warren Holleman retired early to pursue his dream of becoming a bona fide storyteller. His stories have been featured on The Moth Radio Hour, The Moth Mainstage, TEDx, and PBS’s Stories from the Stage.

Warren believes that stories have sacred power. They bring us together in friendships and communities, and give meaning and purpose to our lives. When we dare to tell our stories, and when we truly listen to the stories of others, miracles and wonders take place!

Abel Lomas - Storyteller

Abel Lomas believes life is less about job titles and more about joyful moments. He seeks out these moments winding through nature, filling his home with tantalizing aromas in his experimental kitchen, feeling the emotional swell of music at live performances, laughing uncontrollably with loved ones, and seeing the pure joy of a grateful dog’s wiggle.

For Abel, storytelling is a wormhole that gives a glimpse of the heart of another’s life experience. Inside you’ll see their fears and joy, which builds connections worth forging.

Hari Rao - Storyteller

Hari Rao moved to Austin in 2022 having spent most of his life in the Chicagoland area. While new to storytelling, Hari has been on stage many times as both a bass guitarist of nearly 20 years, and more recently as a standup comedian, performing regularly at East Austin Comedy Club. His alter ego is an accountant at a fitness company in Austin.

Amanda Smith - Storyteller

Amanda Smith has traveled the world, seeking out stories of people from all walks of life. She believes that storytelling is the most human of arts, and the key to connection in a divided world.

Humaira Zafar - Storyteller

Humaira Zafar grew up in Karachi, Pakistan and moved to the US for education. She loves listening to stories and believes that storytelling is how we remember who we are and where we come from. When she isn’t working, she’s often dreaming up her next journey.

Susan Mack - Co-Producer

A regular on the Austin storytelling performance scene, Susan Mack has more than 20 years experience with corporate and personal storytelling.

Mike Mournighan - Co-Producer

Mike Mournighan is an Austin based improvisor, twitch streamer, and storyteller. He is also the newest co-producer of Stories on the Lawn! During his lifelong journey to become funnier, Mike tripped over storytelling and fell in love with the art's sincerity and deep human connection. Since that accident, he's won the Austin Story Slam, become a teacher, and begun coaching in the local scene. Mike manages www.storytellingaustin.com as a free aggregator for local events and he'd love to hear your story.
