storytellers
Ron Farris - Storyteller
Ron Farris has proudly called himself many things: a NASA engineer, an Air Force fighter pilot, a wartime commander, a general adventurist bum, and recently, a storyteller. He was born and educated in Austin, but his vagabond brand was honed traveling and living abroad in Europe and Antartica. Ron was recently inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni at UT Austin, despite his inability to hold a position for more than two consecutive years throughout his 31 years in uniform. He's still trying to figure out if the recent 2000 miles of worldwide hiking is about finding himself or running away from himself, but either way he's got some stories to share.
Christina Fouts - Storyteller
Bio coming soon.
Angela Maldonado - Storyteller
Angela Maldonado is a Corpus Christi–born writer, improviser, and storyteller based in Austin. She works in communications for the organization that supports all 254 Texas counties and has produced the storytelling show Testify since 2017. She shares her home with three dogs, two cats, and more books than free time.
O’Beau Martin - Storyteller
O’Beau Martin is a traveling storyteller based in Austin, Texas, whose heartfelt, lyrical tales have been featured at national storytelling festivals, including the Sierra Storytelling Festival and the main stage at Country Fair. Over the years, he has shared stories in towns across the country while locally gracing the stages of Hyde Park Storytelling, the Sagebrush, ColdTowne Theater, and more. Blending humor, tenderness, and poetic insight, O’Beau’s stories tickle the funny bone and pluck on the heartstrings.
Sheeny Parvez - Storyteller
Sheeny Parvez is a self-proclaimed master of none, having dabbled across many talents such as culinary entrepreneurship, music, and acting– but she has been writing stories since she could hold a crayon. She is a Business Analyst by day, which funds her passion for writing screenplays, short stories, and children’s books.
Pooja Shah - Storyteller
Originally from Mumbai, Pooja has called Austin home for 6 years now. During the day she works as a Data Analyst in eBooks, the closest she’s come to fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a librarian yet. After work, you can find her salsa dancing, playing Skeeball or throwing the best themed parties in town. Having grown up surrounded by stories from her grandmothers, she enjoys telling and listening to stories as a way to connect with people.
Susan Mack - Co-Producer
A regular on the Austin storytelling performance scene, Susan Mack has more than 20 years experience with corporate and personal storytelling.
Mike Mournighan - Co-Producer
Mike Mournighan is an Austin based improvisor, twitch streamer, and storyteller. He is also the newest co-producer of Stories on the Lawn! During his lifelong journey to become funnier, Mike tripped over storytelling and fell in love with the art's sincerity and deep human connection. Since that accident, he's won the Austin Story Slam, become a teacher, and begun coaching in the local scene. Mike manages www.storytellingaustin.com as a free aggregator for local events and he'd love to hear your story.
