Sunday Funday: Simple Machines

Sunday Funday
SIMPLE MACHINES

Archimedes said, “Give me a place to stand and I will move the Earth.”

Sunday, February 11, 2024
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM CST

One Sunday a month, the Neill-Cochran House Museum welcomes children of all ages to a traditional activity in the lawn in front of the Museum. Join us as we appreciate 19th century engineering on a whole new level, and learn the amazing power of simple machines.

Examples of simple machines like a lever and a block and tackle will be available to use. We will be teaching kids how to make rope out of twine, and the kids will be able to take their rope with them. All supplies will be provided, as well as staff, to help with instructions. This event is perfect for families with children ages 4-10.

Reservations are not required. Participation in Sunday Funday is free with Museum admission. Drop in anytime between 11:00am and 2:00pm to enjoy the activity. You are welcome to bring a lunch and enjoy it in the lawn. The Neill-Cochran House Museum is open for touring for throughout the activity, admission required.
