Austin Museum Day is a citywide event which offers free admission and includes special programs and activities at museums and cultural institutions across the city. This year's Austin Museum Day at the NCHM features:
live music
a local art market
a self-portrait making activity
ice cream & lemonade making
lawn games & scavenger hunts
free admission to the Museum
Make the NCHM a part of your Austin Museum Day, enjoy the outdoor activities, then come inside the Museum with free admission to see one of Austin's oldest residences.
NCHM staff will lead a free self-portrait making activity from 11am - 3pm, inspired by the art exhibition, Liberating Black Art, on display now inside the Museum.
Our friends at Math Happens will lead a fun and educational activity, and Lemon Bars by Jackie will be selling her scrumptious baked goods.
