Participation in Session 1 is required to attend any other part of this course, and includes a copy of Robert’s Rules in Brief, a user-friendly guide to parliamentary procedure.



A copy of Robert’s Rules of Order in Brief, 3rd Edition is included with this course, and is an invaluable reference for parliamentary procedure.

 

Solving the Parliamentary Puzzle is a course designed to provide participants with the tools to successfully participate in a board as a member or in a leadership role in a non-profit organization. The session format is based on National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) membership examination.

Parliamentary procedure content is based on Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised 12th Edition, America’s foremost guide to parliamentary procedure. Attendees will receive their own complimentary copy of Robert’s Rules of Order in Brief, 3rd Edition at the first session.

Each session format is interactive and will consist of Q&As, quizzes, and role playing. All attendees must attend Session 1: Introduction - Rules - Meetings - Motions, in order to join any other part of the course.

This course will be led by Leonora Branca PRP, and will take place at the Neill-Cochran House Museum Exhibit Room. Free parking is available behind the Museum accessible from 23rd Street.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Leonora Branca, PRP (Professional Registered Parliamentarian)
After retiring from a twenty-five year career in high tech in the Silicon Valley, Leonora Branca began studying Robert’s Rules and parliamentary procedure. She earned the highest credential awarded by the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) – Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP). Branca has served as parliamentarian to many organizations at the local level, the state level, and the national level. She currently is a member of the NAP committee that develops the testing material and serves as an examiner for the PRP credentialing examination. In addition, Branca is a member of number of lineage societies including the National Society of Colonial Dames in Texas (NSCDA-TX) and the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).
