MEET THE STORYTELLERS:

LAUREN FEINBERG

Lauren was that friend we all have whose stories are interrupted mid-stream by a bored, disinterested audience. After many small steps (and tools and books and classes and coaching and practice), she’s made her way here to you. She now teaches public speaking and communication skills to professionals, and is living proof that we can all learn to talk a little gooder.

Sara Laas

Sara Puig Laas grew up in Laredo, where she could see Mexico from the backyard of her Grandma's riverbank home. The adventures and misadventures available on both sides of the Rio Grande are an endless source of stories — even though people in other parts of the country sometimes find them hard to believe. Sara spent a career in journalism and human resources interviewing more than 1000 people about their stories. Now she shares her own onstage and is working on a book of memoir essays.

ABEL LOMAS

Abel Lomas is no stranger to strangers. One of his favorite hobbies is meeting new people. Some would say he's never met a stranger and he's a magnet to some of the most unique people on the planet.

Abel is one of those people that never stops moving. He keeps himself busy as an improv actor with Yes Andersons, cycling, greeting anyone's dog, hiking, being silly, and keeping his bald head smooth. Right now he's super excited about the upcoming release of a new podcast he's co-hosting, called Everyday Idiots.

TRISTAN MERCADO

Tristan Young Mercado grew up in a tiny beach cottage in NC with 24 dogs, a dozen cats, goats, pony, parrot, ferret, and a portly raccoon. She's performed in local storytelling shows around Austin including Listen to Your Mother, Testify, and Live Strong. Her mini plays have been featured Frontera Fringe Fest taking both Best of Week and Best of Fest titles for the past 7 years.

Currently focusing on her screenwriting, she writes character driven stories that deal with themes ranging from mental illness and neurodiversity, to complicated relationships and healing unprocessed trauma.  Her forte is writing heavy topics with a light hand. Her teenage son recently described her as old, impatient, and someone who doesn’t "eff" with the devil.  She was only offended by the old part.

TREVOR PERRY

Trevor is an Australian by birth, a US resident by choice, a computer weenie by trade, and a motivational speaker by passion. He grew up in the Australian bush, and emigrated to the US where no-one could understand him until he learned to say “to-may-to” and “wah-turrr”.

Trevor has traveled the world teaching and consulting on technology and speaking to audiences on subjects as diverse as life balance, creativity, improv, building slide decks and the future of technology. He is currently the president-elect of the Austin chapter of the National Speakers Association, and will be leading their Speaker University’s next semester in the first quarter of 2024.

Trevor roasts his own coffee beans, occasionally reads a book or two from his collection of 4,500, and is a mad crazy Formula 1 fanatic.

Susan Mack (Emcee)

A regular on the Austin storytelling performance scene, Susan Mack has more than 20 years experience with corporate and personal storytelling. She's currently pursuing her MFA with Vermont College of Fine Arts.
