Texas Lost and Found is a solo exhibition of three-dimensional, mixed media artwork by Austin artist Lawrence Jolly. All of the works incorporate found objects, primarily antique hardware and building materials, giving them new life. Jolly explains that these “things, like people, need a second chance.”

Here at the Neill-Cochran House Museum, we recognize the important role material culture plays in our understanding of place, and of memory. Texas Lost and Found playfully connects past and present, finding new meaning in objects both familiar and obscure.

An Opening Reception for Texas Lost and Found will be held at the Neill-Cochran House Museum on Saturday, January 27th. The reception will be free and open to the public. Click here for more information.

About lawrence jolly:

Lawrence Jolly is an accomplished studio artist who lives and works in Round Rock, Texas. As the former owner of iconic Austin graphic design firm, Jolly Design, and graduate of UT/Austin with a BFA in design, Lawrence is the recipient of the 2016 City of Austin Peoples Choice Award, Austin ArtBoards winner, and subject of numerous shows and exhibits throughout the US. His work connects through visual allegory our spiritual and natural selves in richly rendered medium- and large-format oil paintings and mixed media dimensional pieces. His studies of children, adults, and animals situated in ethereal environmental settings reflect the humanism of Rockwell combined with the whimsy of Dali in a completely unique and energetic contemporary style.

Lawrence also teaches painting from his home studio and the Georgetown Art Center, and serves on the Board of Directors of Georgetown Art Works and in various capacities with church, neighborhood, civic and refugee organizations. He and his wife travel in their RV and foster Golden Retrievers.
