Preservation of, for, and by the community
Volunteering at the Neill-Cochran House Museum
The 100 year history we represent and preserve in our collection belongs to all of us. It is our history, our chance to talk about what shaped the city that has in one way or another shaped our own lives. Whether you have already cultivated an interest in architecture and design, decorative arts, or state and local history; whether you’ve always wanted to work in a museum or a gallery; or whether you are looking to learn and share something new, we believe that there is no better way to talk about our historic house’s ties to today’s Austin than to ask Austinites themselves to speak about it.
We have an ongoing need for volunteer ambassadors to welcome and orient patrons during regular hours and special events. While there is no minimum commitment, we recommend that volunteers be able to set aside an afternoon (3 hours) each month.
Prefer to work behind the scenes? We often have needs for volunteers to help with organizing files or supplies and preparing large mailings.
Send us a note or give us an old-fashioned phone call at 512-478-2335 to talk more about volunteering with us!
