Preservation of, for, and by the community: Volunteering at Neill-Cochran House Museum

We love our volunteers! This is our history, our chance to talk about what shaped the city that has in one way or another shaped our own lives. Whether you have already cultivated an interest in architecture and design, decorative arts, or state and local history or are looking to learn and share something knew, we believe that there is no better way to talk about our historic house’s ties to contemporary Austin than to ask Austinites themselves to speak about it.

We have an ongoing need for volunteer docents as well as archive and collections assistants who can commit to 6 months of regular contributions to our work. Contact us with any questions you might have or come and see the house sometime in person if you’ve never visited us before and we’ll show you around, then download our volunteer form and mail or email it to us and a staff member will help you get started!

Looking for an internship opportunity? We offer options for internship experience focusing on museum communications and development or collections and archives. Staff are able to assist with providing documentation and coordinating with your institution. Visit our internship page for more information.
