Make the Neill-Cochran House Museum, one of Austin’s oldest and most architecturally significant historic structures, the backdrop for your next event! Located less than a mile from the Texas Capitol and blocks away from the University of Texas, the Neill-Cochran House Museum brings new meaning to the phrase “deep in the heart of Texas”!
We are pleased to welcome weddings, private and corporate meetings and parties, luncheons, cocktail parties, and other special events. Events for groups of more than fifty enjoy the flexibility our grounds provide. We are a lovely venue for outdoor weddings and galas for up to 300 guests. Indoors, we have a beautifully-installed exhibit space that accommodates up to 50 people for a lecture or seated luncheon or dinner, or can seat up to twenty at an antique conference room table.
Rental of the museum includes use of our on-site parking for up to 50 cars, the grounds, and museum access. The house was built for entertaining and there are many options for set-up inside and on the grounds.
Centennial Garden • A beautiful location for a wedding ceremony for up to 100 guests or for cocktail hour.
Front lawn • The Neill-Cochran House provides a stunning backdrop for wedding ceremonies and can accommodate up to 200 chairs. The lawn space can also accommodate benches and cocktail tables, a bar, or dining.
Side lawn • Dine and dance under the majestic oaks with the backdrop of the Neill-Cochran House. This space can be tented for up to 200 guests, and is beautiful with or without a tent (see preferred vendor list for tent options).
Parlor • The North side double-parlor in the museum is available to guests for cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres and accommodates 40 guests comfortably. It is a lovely location for drinks before a seated indoor dinner, and also can be used in combination with other locations on the grounds for larger parties.
Parking Area • Our parking area sits on two levels, and is surfaced with unlined brick rather than asphalt. The area can accommodate up to 50 cars, but the top side of the parking area is also a lovely location for a tent for up to 150 seated guests. When set up for a party, the space looks nothing like a parking lot! And, when you set up a bar area in the Centennial Garden nearby, the combination is beautiful.
Downstairs Exhibit Space • This space can be configured in a number of ways. It accommodates up to 50 people for a seated luncheon or dinner or set up with rows of chairs for a lecture. We also have an antique conference table that seats up to 20 people and provides a convenient and comfortable meeting space for board-style meetings. The room is wired for sound and has a screen and an available projector for no added fee.
