Hunt for Historic Haunts

Over the years, the Neill-Cochran House has been rumored to be haunted by numerous sources. Some say Colonel Neill guards the property on horseback, occasionally enjoying a cup of tea with Robert E. Lee, who rocks slowly on the balcony. Others say that footsteps can still be heard throughout the neighborhood — footsteps of marching soldiers who survived the war, only to fall ill to yellow fever. Unfortunately, these stories have remained as rumors over the years because staff can’t confirm or deny them without supporting evidence. At Hunt for Historic Haunts, children will learn the history of the Neill-Cochran House and collect clues to help determine whether there is truth behind these tales — or if there is yet another ghost in our presence that has yet to be identified!
