Escape from the heat (and from the digital age, too.)

In preparation for the end of summer, we decided to examine what summer fun may have looked like for children in the 19th-century. History lab experimenters will have their choice of corn husk and yarn dolls, customized jigsaw puzzles, or creating a cup-and-ball game! We’ll also have a few of our fan sets available to decorate and assemble.

A museum scavenger hunt will also be available for those who want to take a closer look at our historic buildings and grounds. Want to brave the great outdoors after all? We’ll have paddle ball, jump rope, and knucklebones under the afternoon shade of our front porch for those who are feeling all crafted out.

This activity is for people of all-ages (even grown-ups!), but kids under 8 might need the help of an adult or an older kid.
